rajit recently posted this mod which consists of modifications to pretty much all of the system apps such as the framework, systemui, settings, etc. I personally haven't tested this yet but from the looks of it, this also installs an app to your phone from which you can at any time easily change the look of the battery.

Obviously this is strictly for deodexed roms only as claimed in the xda thread, so be sure to have a deodexed rom aswell as a backup just incase something goes wrong if you're planning on installing this to your system.

It appears that you can "swipe to clear" and change the icon at anytime by just pressing 3 or 4 times on the battery icon to "see the magic".

This month is very Touchwizzy as we've seen a few cool things to make our Galaxy Y look like the newer devices out there. We saw the S3 lockscreen, the S4 wallpaper, and now we're gonna take a look at the S4 look-a-like settings app.

bbclo531 recently posted this on the xda-developers boards, without much information about where it came from, unfortunately. But by looking at the top tabs, they are in non-english letters which means that this is once again another exported app off a Chinese replica phone.

I have tested everything and it is working without any problems. The app comes with the name "Settings" and it uses the same app icon that the Galaxy S4 has. All of the settings menus are accessible and the only problem might be the tabs' names, but anyone with basic decompiling skills can translate them to their preffered language.

Nowadays everyone wishes to have the advanced TouchWiz feel, therefore some of the latest custom roms appear to have the s3/s4 look in the user interface. What good is that when you don't have a wallpaper look-a-like? In this case this is a live wallpaper which includes the drop riffle effects and it's a big plus to the people who enjoy the s4 theme on their Galaxy Y.

This app includes some customization settings inside it other than just being a simple live wallpaper, so you can change some things to your desires. This includes changing the touch effect to either water splash or light particles.

I have tested this app on the Galaxy Y and it runs smoothly. After monitoring it for a bit I've noticed it uses around 22MB of your RAM.

6. Go to Install zip from SD Card > Choose zip from SD Card > Choose the zzzzzzzzzzzzzBlackAndWhite.zip from the list
7. Choose Yes
8. After flashing, go to Advanced > Reboot Recovery
9. Now go again to ClockWorkMod Recovery
10. Mount /system
11. Go to Install zip from SD Card > Choose zip from SD Card > Choose the zzzzzzzzzzzzzBootAnimation.zip
12. After that choose Reboot System Now.

So a few months ago, I showed you 5 useful tips and tricks for the Galaxy Y and in the video, I mentioned using voice commands but I didn't manage to show you some of them.

What I didn't show you in the video was the list of commands that are proven to work fine on the Galaxy Y and other Android phones. For those of you who have never used voice commands, today you will learn 8 new commands that work just fine on the Galaxy Y and can easen up some things.

Commands shown in video:

• Directly send a text message
• Directly call a contact
• Directly send e-mail
• Directly visit a particular website
• Immediatelly find a word's definition on the net
• Ask question and get answer (sometimes answer comes with voice)
• Quickly navigate to places with voice
• Send note to self

Today I picked up this awesome S3 lockscreen app from the xda-developers boards, shared by Roman_Likhachev (surprisingly, it still wasn't shared in the Galaxy Y boards). There is not much information on this, it could be another extracted app off a chinese device that is trying to have the TouchWiz look but was meant for a more low-end device thus it is compatible with ours aswell.

What I found very interesting about this apps is that it has been given the Galaxy S3 layout, which makes it even more awesome.

The app features:

• Shows battery percentage (if enabled)
• A few special functions

JellyBean Loaded v4 is a custom launcher that is developed by xXx~~~SHLOK~~~xX from xda-developers. The launcher has been given the JellyBean style and it offers very neat features.

So I'm pretty sure most of you are aware with the Google Edition phones being out for a while now, and some of you might have liked to have their boot animations on your Galaxy Y.

Well you can now have them, thanks to CharsiBabu from xda-developers forums who has ported them to work with the Galaxy Y. He claims that he used youdug's release from the HTC Evo 4G boards.

GreenDroidGD is a custom rom developed by Blaze from xda-developers forums. As you can see pretty much the whole user interface is themed in green, you could call this something unique apart from most ICS/JellyBean UI clones. The developer didn't give much information on core changes such as what kind of tweaks and improvements have been applied to the rom, but mostly just information on which parts of the rom have been themed in green.

But by looking at a screenshot below, it appears it atleast has the basic features any custom rom should offer such as the AOSP lockscreens, EDT tweaks, CPU control, DSP Manager, etc.
